Solaye Kamau is a lens seeing and sharing the world through Black culture and memory.
The project began with a feeling that the spaces I lived in didn’t reflect the stories I carried.
As a designer from the Afro diaspora, I wanted art with presence, memory, and meaning, yet made for everyday living.
So, I began creating the pieces I wanted. Art shaped by heritage and grounded in the present.
My aim is simply to bring art into daily spaces that speaks to heritage, presence, and pride.
With Solaye Kamau, I hope collecting art can feel more personal, more representative, and more like home.
